Pakistan to Host Six-Nation Emerging Asia Cup 2018
Pakistan will host the six nation Emerging Asia Cup in April next year, the Asian cricket Council development committee decided in a meeting in Lahore on Sunday (October 29).
PCB Chairman Najam Sethi made the announcement at a question and answer session in Lahore flanked by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) President Thilanga Sumathipala, hours in front of the much-anticipated Twenty20 International last being played between the two nations at Gaddafi Stadium.

“Pakistan is an important nation in the cricket world and if it is weak than Asian cricket is weak and if Asian cricket is weak than world cricket will be weak,” he said.
He also said that, “Six teams will be playing the cup. Out of the six teams, five will be full members of the International Cricket Council (ICC) whereas the sixth team will be the qualifier team from the qualifying rounds”.
The PCB director was sure that the matches would be played in more than one city. “I can guarantee you we will have more than one scene,” he said.
India have won the most Asia Cups 6 times, following India in the list Sri Lanka won 5 times while Pakistan have won twice only. Bangladesh and Afghanistan haven’t won a single time.
After the visit of international players in PSL-2 final, World XI and Sri Lankan team recent visit to Pakistan, we hope this Asia Cup would be a turning point in bringing the Cricket back home for the Green shirts.
