Pakistan’s Leading Hotels & Restaurants Exposed for Serving Substandard Chicken

There been a buzz in the town especially in Lahore regarding the unhygienic and substandard food quality particularly in the leading hotels and restaurants in the biggest food chains franchises. The booze started from Lahore by the Government food department couple of years ago under the supervision of Ayesha Mumtaz (Director Food operations).

The crackdown spread to the other metro cities as well causing a havoc for unhygienic chicken and other chicken products.

Following Hotels and restaurants have been indulged using unhygienic Chicken in Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi:

  • Serena Hotel
  • Marriot Hotel
  • Savour foods
  • Al-Habib restaurants

International food franchises list includes:

  • McDonalds
  • Fatburger
  • KFC

The mentioned restaurants chains and hotel’s name was exposed by District Health Officer Mr. Agha Najeeb when he raided and carried out dead or unhygienic chicken.

He further claimed that tones of freeze Chicken was recovered from the storage of the mentioned restaurants. One of the member on condition of anonymity tells that due to strong political influences of the owners, the places were not sealed but fined heavily from using expired material.


MQM Senator Mian Attique ur Rehman raised the issue in Senate of milk made by the dilution of urea and powder milk. The daily consumption of Natural milk is 25000 Liters in Lahore only which is beyond the capacity of producers and thus was wasted due to adulteration.

Last month, PFA team have discarded about 1200 liters of milk out of 6000 liters after figuring it was unhealthy in Lahore.
